That's Dez and Jon shooting the park restroom scene for the Skidmark Heart video. From my various experiences in production, I now believe that a Director and Director of Photography duo is a quite clean way to go about making film. They'll be at the Harris Trucks show this Saturday to shoot a scene in front of the club and all friends are encouraged to play a subtle part in the video...

Then we'll rock out.

L.A. Rock Show

L.A. is a spot that I continue to haunt...

this time we arrived early and dug in at Venice Beach a few days,

sushi, walk along the surf, rehearse,

see some friends play in Hollywood a few nights before,

then, on a perfect evening, head to our own show,

enjoy the conversation with friends new and old,

and give it all for rock n roll.

And when it couldn't get much sweeter,

people I admire arrived to the party:

Jack White, Josh Homme, Alison Mosshart, Nick Olivieri,

among others, brought 500% up to 10K% as we neared dawn,

singing songs off the jukebox,

best David Lee Roth impressions / air guitar / Budweiser

- et cetera -

til the southern California cows done come home.

Guitar Crunch

Found myself on the couch, electric guitar unplugged, and making it vibrate against my chest, not a frequent activity truthfully.  Savor.  Discovered a new song all of a sudden!  Well, I'll get to kick out more stringed action on Saturday so something to look forward at for now.  Life is magic and causes impatience when I think about tomorrow and on and on.

Acoustic Guitar in Bathtub

I bought a guitar when I was twelve.  Guess it was my third guitar - black, Ovation acoustic.  I'm going to record a track now with this axe.  Kicking it on the edge of the tub, looking out the fire escape and setting a condenser mic up in front.  Love the way it sounds.
